Why organic cotton?

Posted on February 01, 2014 by Noorin Khamisani | 0 comments

The humble cotton plant… ubiquitous now with t-shirts, bedding and maybe even your beauty regime. But for all it’s fluffiness, growing conventional cotton is anything but a nice, fluffy affair. Requiring a huge amount of pesticides, conventional cotton is not only hazardous for the environment, but also the health of the farmers who grow it.

In steps organic cotton. Grown using more sustainable, sometimes centuries old methods, this variation is often softer and gentler on the skin. Couple that with cleaner water, healthier workers and fairer wages, and you can understand why we choose to use organic cotton.

Our new Fitted Shirt Dress and Maxi Shirt Dress are made in this luxurious fabric.  Why?  For that aforementioned softness and supreme comfort against the skin.

Let’s call it a little slice of luxury for this everyday fibre.

(To read more about organic cotton, we’d recommend the Soil Association and their Cottoned On campaign)
